Checkmate or L-shaped move? The best young chess players of the Ural Federal District gathered in Yekaterinburg to compete. Here they are struggling to get to the championship of Russia. Competitions are held at USUE.

9-year-old Artem Pinigin from Yekaterinburg is a European champion in his age category. The boy mastered the art of gambits and endgames when he was 5. "First I was taught by my father, and then we began to study chess. It turned out unexpectedly: I won the European Championship and started to win further," Artem Pinigin told us.
